Eric is kicking us off for the Guest Artist postcards because his saying seemed most fitting for everything that went on up in my life up to this point. I had been rushing to finish a new site (the one you are on), while trying to document all the Guest Artist postcards, scheduling posts, all in the time of my day job and trying to pack for an awesome two week vacation. The saying that Eric used said it perfectly, I didn’t want to let anyone down and wanted to “finish first!” I realized towards the end I just need to finish, push through and get it all done! Which is what happened, thank goodness. Enjoy all the posts and please share the project with your friends.
Side Note: I loved that Eric was up to the challenge of making a postcard. Most recently Eric has been working as a super awesome photographer and retoucher. He had mentioned he was a little rusty with his “design skills,” but it turned out great! Thanks Eric!

Lately I’ve been working on a lot of different personal projects in a lot of different disciplines and even more ideas have been buzzing around my mind. Too often I get a great idea and plan it all out but never find the time to actually go through with it, or I’ll actually start a project only to get sucked into somehting else before I can finish. Personal projects are really important to me, so when I heard this quote it made me think about all the personal work that I still need to finish. Usually all of my projects start with me trying to figure out how to make them as epic as possible, something that will make everyone go “wow” and really steal the show. Sometimes I need to stop and realize that while it’s great to have projects that do that, if I don’t finish them, they’ll never have the opportunity to create that effect.
